Previously:
— After escaping from Victoria after the bloody battle, Javier, Angie, Lydia-Jean, Charlotte, Shiloh, Zahra, and baby Stephen fled alongside Diego, one of Noah’s people from the underground facility. Noah, Peter, Henry, and the others were alarmed when Javier and the others failed to turn up hours later.

Any luck?

22
Charlotte: Any luck?
Javier: No.
Charlotte: We’ll keep looking.

23
Charlotte: If there was one thing I thought people wouldn’t bother scavenging, it’s baby formula.
Javier: There were a lot of new-born’s when this started.
Charlotte: I guess. Man, that’s depressing.

24
Charlotte: How’s it looking, LJ?
Lydia-Jean: I’d say we’ve got about ten/fifteen minutes before that swarm gets too close to comfort.

25
Charlotte: Heard from the others?
Lydia-Jean: Not yet.
Charlotte: Head back.

26
Charlotte: You OK?
Javier: I’ve been better.
Charlotte: Angie will get through this, Javier. She’s made of tough stuff.
Javier: She lived for Bobby.
Charlotte: I know. But he spent his last seconds making sure she got out alive. She needs to carry on. I know that’s easier said than done.

27
Charlotte: C’mon. This place has been swept clean. Let’s hope Shiloh and Diego had better luck.

28
Charlotte: I’d say Lydia’s estimation was spot on. Smart kid.

29
Charlotte: I miss him, too.
Javier: He was a good boy.
Charlotte: He should have hated me like everyone else after that whole business with Eli.
Javier: When you spied for him?
Charlotte: He had my mother. You of all people should remember what he was –
Javier: I didn’t mean anything by it. Forgive me.
Charlotte: Forget about it.

30
Charlotte: Bobby… never even made a snide comment. He refused to leave me out in the open by myself. That’s a true friend.

31

32

33

34
Zahra: Well?

35
Charlotte: Nothing.

36

37
Charlotte: ‘Thanks for trying anyway, Charlotte.’ ‘Oh, sure, Zahra. No problem’.

38
Charlotte: I’m taking a walk. Can’t stand the sound of that kid crying for a second longer.

39
Javier: Where’s Angie?

40

41

42

43
Javier: Angie…

44

45

46
Javier: Feel better?

47
Angie: Find any formula?
Javier: No. What happened to your bat?
Angie: Broke. Damn thing.

48
Angie: Don’t.
Javier: What!?

49
Angie: I’m not losing my mind. I’m not suicidal. I don’t have some out-of-control-blood-lust. I’m venting. And for the record, it absolutely makes me feel better.

50
Javier: I loved him, too.

51

52
Lydia-Jean: Shiloh and Diego are back. It’s good news… for once.

53

54
Charlotte: You guys hear that?
Shiloh: No?
Charlotte: Isn’t it bliss?
Shiloh: We hit the jackpot. There’s enough for the little guy for two weeks. Maybe more.

55
Diego: At least we’ll be able to get a good night’s sleep tonight.
Lydia-Jean: Don’t jinx it.

56

57
Javier: You gonna come join us?
Angie: I’m fine.
Javier: You need to eat.
Angie: I know you mean well, but I wanna be alone.

58

59
Javier: I wouldn’t mind taking over if you wanted to take a break?

60

61

62
Shiloh: Doesn’t say much, does she?
Lydia-Jean: Charlotte and I were at Victoria when she and Catelyn arrived. She’s always been…
Charlotte: Creepy.
Lydia-Jean: Well… yeah.

63
Javier: What was it Alexis called him?
Charlotte: Stephen, I think.
Lydia-Jean: Really? Then she named him after her husband.
Shiloh: Someone married that woman!?
Lydia-Jean: Oh, believe me; Auntie Alexis can be very charming if the mood suits her. No doubt Stephen had money.

64
Javier: Maybe we should think of a new name?
Shiloh: Is it our place?

65
Charlotte: No, but the poor little guy doesn’t exactly have parents to do it for him. And if we don’t have the right, Alexis sure as hell didn’t.
Lydia-Jean: Max?
Charlotte: No.
Lydia-Jean: What’s wrong with Max?
Charlotte: Had a cousin called Max and he used to shit under my bed to gross me out.
Lydia-Jean: Sorry I asked.

68
Javier: What about Miguel?

66
Diego: Gabriel?

67
Charlotte: Sam?

69
Shiloh: Joey?
Lydia-Jean: Maybe Bobby?

70
Charlotte: That might be a sweet gesture.
Javier: I could run it past Angie…
Shiloh: She might take it the wrong way… like we’re trying to replace him, or something.
Lydia-Jean: Nobody can replace Bobby.
Shiloh: I know. But she’s grieving. Might see it like that.
Charlotte: What should we call him, then?

71
Zahra: Rayan.

72
Charlotte: I guess that’s decided.
Lydia-Jean: Zahra, can I squeeze in the tent tonight? It’s so cold and I –

73

74
Lydia-Jean: Sigh.
Charlotte: Wrap up warm, kiddo. I think it’s time we all got some sleep.
Shiloh: I’ll take first watch.

75
Javier: Angie…
Angie: Goodnight.

76
Diego: Let’s go for a walk, amigo.

77
Javier: Why are we going this far?
Diego: Need to show you something.

78
Javier: Whoa.
Diego: That horde we spotted heading to my place? Well, it’s got bigger. The one heading East turned and merged with it.
Javier: What does this mean for meeting back up with the others?
Diego: It means it could be another two or three days before we can even risk getting anywhere near the place.
Javier: And there’s no way we can radio the others? Noah?
Diego: It’s all encrypted.

79
Javier: I’m sure we can manage a few more days. Especially now we’ve got milk for the baby.
Diego: Yeah, well, let’s just hope they’ll all still be there when we turn up.
Javier: Why wouldn’t they?

80
Javier: Diego?
Diego: I didn’t wanna upset the others… lower their morale…
Javier: What is it?
Diego: That facility is temporary. At least it was supposed to be. We were waiting for instructions on where we would be moving to eventually.
Javier: I don’t understand?

82
Diego: It’s an amazing place. I got sick to the sight of it, but it was safe from the dead and any human threat. But it can’t last forever. It runs on propane. Eventually, it’ll be useless. Noah knew that. That’s why it was arranged for us to leave eventually. Whenever Noah gets the word, he’s packing everyone up and going. With our without me…

83
Javier: And with or without us.

84
Javier: Where is it? This place they will be moving to?
Diego: I don’t know.
Javier: How can you not!?
Diego: Because it’s top secret. I’m not even sure Noah himself knows.
Javier: What is this thing you’re a part of? Who are you people?
Diego: It’s a long story. If I’m honest, I’m not even sure myself. But we were put together soon after everything fell to ensure humanity had a path moving forward.
Javier: That facility wasn’t built yesterday, amigo.

85
Javier: Did someone know the end was coming?
Diego: Noah wasn’t a doomsday conspiracy theorist, if that’s what you’re getting at. But he was a wealthy man. One with connections. He took the lead in trying to locate scientists, pathologists in particular, when the world went to hell. Say what you like about him, and trust me I have, but he’s a good man.
Javier: So, we could miss out on where they’re going?
Diego: Yes. I could’ve waited all that time… for nothing…

86
Diego: I shouldn’t complain. At least I’m alive. Others weren’t so lucky. But it seems cruel that I might never get to see what’s next.
Javier: Peter wouldn’t go without us.
Diego: He might not have a choice. The fact we haven’t turned up… they might assume we didn’t make it out of Victoria.
Javier: He would wait for Angie.
Diego: Why?

87
Diego: He likes her?
Javier: He… I…
Diego: Loves her?

88
Diego: OK, but more than he loves his daughter? Trust me, wherever it is Noah’s gonna take them, it’s gonna be too good of an opportunity to pass up, especially a father who would do anything to keep his child safe.

90
Diego: I’m sorry, man. I just felt someone should know just in case we get there and they’re gone. Everyone might lose their shit. I know Shiloh’s Dad is there… all the rest of your friends. I didn’t wanna handle the fall-out by myself.
Javier: I appreciate the head’s up.

89
Diego: Do we tell them?
Javier: Not now. They’re hanging by a thread.

91

92

93
Shiloh: Dude?
Javier: Mm?
Shiloh: Mind taking over? I’m exhausted.
Javier: Sure.
Shiloh: Thanks, man. G’night.

111
Shiloh: ZAHRA, GET OUT OF THE TENT! NOW!

112

113
Shiloh: Fuck… c’mon!

114
Javier: We can lose them in here!
Shiloh: Not if the kid doesn’t stop crying!
Diego: Can’t you shut him up, Zahra!?
Charlotte: He’s a new-born! She can’t exactly threaten him with the naughty step!

115
Javier: Give him to me!
Zahra: No!
Javier: I’ll keep him safe! I’ll lure the freaks away and circle back! You’re too slow, Zahra! We won’t be able to get them off our tail otherwise!

116
Javier: You can trust me.

117
Javier: Stay here and lie low! I’ll be back!
Angie: Be careful!

118

119
Javier: C’mon, little guy. Please. Just be quiet.

120

121
Javier: That’s it… hush…

122
Javier: NO!

Are you OK? Sir?

125
Javier: Who are you!?
Alyssa: Whoa! Easy!
Javier: What happened!?
Alyssa: One of the dead grabbed you in the woods! You fell… hit your head and blacked out…
Javier: Where’s the baby!?
Alyssa: Just relax! I’ve been sent to check on you.
Javier: Who sent you!?

126
Alyssa: I’ll go get someone…
Javier: I’m coming with you.
Alyssa: Wait, please…
Javier: I’m not staying here!

127
Alyssa: Sir, I know you don’t know me, and you have every right to be freaking out right now, but please, don’t make things difficult. If I let you out… they’ll be repercussions for me and I really don’t need that right now.

128
Javier: Hurry.
Alyssa: Thank you!

135

136
Cameron: Hello there.
Javier: Where’s Rayan!?
Cameron: The baby? He’s fine.

137
Javier: Take me to him!
Cameron: Whoa now. One step at a time.

138
Cameron: What’s your name friend?
Javier: Diego.
Cameron: Two Diego’s in one group of survivors? That’s quite a coincidence.

139
Javier: Why did you ask if you already –!?
Cameron: To see if you would tell me the truth, Javier.
Javier: Are my friends OK?
Cameron: They’re fine.
Javier: Prove it.

140
Cameron: You’re awfully demanding for a man who was second’s away from death. You and that bubba would be chomped up little pieces in some dead guy’s stomach right now if it wasn’t for my people.
Javier: I’m grateful.

141
Cameron: Good. Then come on out and see your friends. But any funny business…

142
Ruth: Did he hurt you!?
Alyssa: No.

143
Ruth: What are they thinking!? Sending you to check on a complete stranger!? He could have done anything to you…

144
Cameron: Is there a problem, girls?
Alyssa: No, Sir.
Cameron: Ruth?
Ruth: What she said.
Cameron: Then get back to where you’re supposed to be.

145
Charlotte: There’s a friendly face.
Angie: You’re OK.
Javier: Are you?
Angie: I’m good. Relieved to be out of that swarm anyway…

146
Javier: Thanks.
Cameron: Nice to see some gratitude finally. You’re welcome.

147
Raymond: Cam, got a minute?
Cameron: Uh-huh.

148
Cameron: Make yourselves comfortable, folks. I’ll be back soon.

149

150
Diego: Aaand he locks the door.

151
Lydia-Jean: To be fair, he’s got people to think about. We could be dangerous.
Shiloh: We are.
Lydia-Jean: Case in point.

152
Angie: So, when are we getting out of here?
Charlotte: Pardon?
Angie: I don’t trust these people.
Charlotte: They saved us. Took us in. Why would they do that if they had sinister motives?
Angie: So, Alexis had nothing but good intentions in mind when she let you into Victoria?
Charlotte: Touché.

153
Shiloh: Where will we go? And with the baby? It would be suicidal to leave right now.
Diego: If we found somewhere safe…
Lydia-Jean: Is there anywhere safe?

154
Angie: I trust those things outside more than I do strangers. At least we know their motives.

155
Javier: They killed Bobby.

156
Angie: Which is what they do. Wanna bring up my dead brother again?

157
Javier: We stay until it’s safe. Then we clear out.
Angie: And it’s down for you to decide!? For all of us!?

158
Javier: Shut up, Angie.

159

160
Charlotte: Damn.
Javier: She saw it out there. If we left with the baby now…
Charlotte: I know. It’s just… she’s grieving, man.
Javier: So am I.

161
Cameron: Good news, folks! The boss has allowed for you all to stick around!

162
Cameron: And you all seem thrilled.

163
Cameron: Come say hi.

164
Raymond: I know this must seem rather intimidating, but I want to assure you all that we’re a tough group. We look out for each other. But we deal with threats, dead or otherwise, with lethal, unapologetic force. To have survived this long, you must understand that.

165
Javier: How many of you are there?

166
Raymond: We were a larger number, but a few days ago… we had to leave our main base. The dead… we were completely overrun. We lost people.

167
Charlotte: We’re sorry to hear that.

168
Angie: Why take us in? What do we have to offer?

169
Cameron: Like Raymond said, we lost folk. And people are a resource. The more of us there are, the safer we should all be. In theory, anyway.

170
Javier: You said he was in charge.

171
Raymond: He is, son.

172
Javier: Yet he can’t speak for himself?

173
Graham: Leave us.

174
Charlotte: We’re not going?

176
Raymond: Nothing’s gonna happen. Not if your friend stays cool. Now c’mon.

175
Angie: Like hell!

177
Javier: It’s fine, guys. Go.

178

179
Javier: I half-wondered if you even spoke English.
Graham: I’m not much of a talker.
Javier: No kidding.

180
Graham: There are certain rules when it comes to my people. We have our own way of dealing with things. If you want to stay here, you’ll have to play ball.
Javier: Who says we want to stay here?
Graham: You want to go back out there?
Javier: Why’d you let those two do the talking for you?
Graham: Because I can.

181
Graham: One of the most important rules, is that I’m to be treated with respect. At all times.

182
Graham: You didn’t know this, so I’ll let it slide. If it happens again, I won’t be lenient. Ensure your compatriots are filled in on this.
Javier: And what happens if we refuse?

184
Graham: Raymond was a cocky-son-of-bitch when we first met. That changed when a friend of his decided to try and belittle me in front of my community. Ray was the person I ordered to clean his insides up from the ground after I slit his stomach open.

183
Graham: As for Cameron? Well. I think he liked to consider himself top-dog. An alpha-male, if you will. He soon adopted more sensible ideas after he saw me grip onto a man’s head and squeeze. By the time I let go, his eyes were rolling back in their sockets. Someone put a bullet in him. Was kinder, they said.

185
Javier: Am I supposed to be afraid?

186
Graham: Not if you’re not that way inclined. But you should be smart, at least.
Javier: I was in prison when all of this started. Busted out with a group. I’m the only one left.
Graham: Am I supposed to be afraid?

187
Javier: I was inside for stealing cars. Not anything violent. There have been times since the world went to hell that I’ve had to kill. I’d do so again if I needed to. But that wasn’t my point.

188
Javier: I met guys like you. Time and time again. You think you’re immortal. Nobody can touch you… until a bigger guy with more nerve comes along. Then it all changes.

189
Graham: I respect your honesty, Javier. And this doesn’t have to get unpleasant. All I ask, is that you know your place. You play along. You contribute. You do as asked. I’m not unreasonable. I’m not going to give you a hard time. You heard what happened to us. We’ve lost a lot of our number. At least half.  I’m not afraid of spilling blood, but I could do without it right now.

190
Graham: I’ll give you a choice. You can go back, tell your friends to keep in line, and you can stay. Where it’s safe and warm. Or you can all leave right now. Face your luck outside. If you try a third option, things will get ugly.

191
Graham: Well?

192
Javier: I’ll play ball.

193
Raymond: Everything OK here?
Graham: Mhm.

194
Raymond: Cameron will escort you back to your quarters, Javier.

195

196

197
Cameron: So, you’re staying?
Javier: Yes.
Cameron: Glad to hear it. You and your people seem mighty useful. Well, maybe not the old lady and the baby. But I’m sure the rest of you will do more than enough to pick up the slack.
Javier: When Graham says contribute? He means–?

198
Cameron: Chores. Guarding the perimeter. What you’d expect.
Javier: Then there won’t be a problem.
Cameron: Glad to hear it, amigo.

199
Cameron: You should get some sleep. I’ll be waking you early. We need help fixing the back fence. Will be an all-day job. Night.

200
Angie: We’re staying?
Javier: We have no choice.

201
Diego: Did you not see that man!? Sitting there like a King while his two lackey’s spoke for him?
Shiloh: He seems like an asshole.

202
Javier: He is. But for the time being at least, we’re staying put.
Angie: Why!?
Javier: You’ve all seen it all there. There’s nothing left. We have an opportunity here to lie low, buy ourselves some time, lick our wounds, re-gain our strength, and stay warm. To pass that up would be lunacy.

203
Charlotte: So, we live under this guy’s thumb?

204
Javier: He was more than honest about what sort of man he is. What sort of place this is. If we stay in line, all of us, there won’t be any problems. They’ve lost a lot of people. They need us to help keep this place safe.

205
Angie: We just took out Alexis and Blaine and we’re now going to cosy up to another Mussolini-wannabe!?
Javier: And where did that get us, Angie?

206
Javier: Right here. With Midway destroyed. Victoria overrun. And a whole lot of people dead.
Angie: We know where there’s somewhere safe! Where we have friends waiting for us!
Javier: We won’t get there in time.

207
Shiloh: What’s that supposed to mean?

208
Javier: Diego showed me a horde earlier. It merged with another one. There’s no way we’re getting anywhere near Noah’s facility place for days… weeks maybe.

209
Lydia-Jean: Why didn’t you tell us!?
Javier: Because I didn’t want you all to give up.

210
Javier: If these people try anything, we’ll protect ourselves and do what we have to do. But if they don’t, then neither do we. This is far from an ideal solution. In fact, it’s the second-to-last place I’d rather be. But the last place is out there. In the cold. Amongst the dead. With a new-born baby.

211
Charlotte: I don’t like this. But it makes sense.
Shiloh: We’ll see how it goes. But only for the short-term.

212
Angie: I’ll stay tonight. But I’m going to Noah’s facility tomorrow. Peter might be searching for us.
Javier: It’s too dangerous.

213
Angie: I’m not discussing it anymore. You guys do what you want.

214
Shiloh: Get some sleep, everyone.

216

215

217
Shiloh: Hm!? What are you–?
Charlotte: I need a piss. They said there was a toilet just down the hall.
Shiloh: I’ll come with.
Charlotte: I’ll be fine.

218

219

220

221
Frank: Hello there.
Charlotte: Oh. Hi.
Frank: You must be from the new group?
Charlotte: That’s right.
Frank: Welcome. I’m Frank.
Charlotte: Charlotte.

222
Frank: Be sure to let me know if there’s anything you need.
Charlotte: Is there a bathroom?

223
Frank: This way.

224
Frank: Here we are.
Charlotte: Thanks.
Frank: Go ahead.
Charlotte: Sorry?

225
Frank: Relieve yourself.
Charlotte: You’re kidding me, right?

227
Frank: I don’t know if you know this, but I’m one of Graham’s top guys.
Charlotte: Right? What do you want? A medal?
Frank: I’m just saying… there are certain ways we get shown appreciation for all the hard work we do in keeping the group safe. Just earlier on, I was guarding the perimeter when a ghoul almost took a chunk out of my arm. I stopped it from getting inside. Getting to you. Surely you’re grateful?
Charlotte: Sure?

226
Frank: Then show me.

228
Charlotte: GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!

229
Javier: Charlotte!?
Charlotte: I’m fine. This piece of shit tried his luck.

230
Frank: What you just did is against the rules!

231
Javier: If I were you, I’d crawl back into whatever hole you hole you came from before I do something I…

232
Charlotte: Uh… this isn’t good.
Ruth: Up to old tricks, Frank?

233
Frank: Oh, this just gets better and better. How’d you get out!?

234
Ruth: I stole a key. The others are making their way out of here as I speak.
Frank: You stupid girl! You’ll get your friends killed!

235
Ruth: You first.

236
Charlotte: Whoa…
Ruth: Get out of the way!

237
Frank: You haven’t got the guts, Ruth.
Ruth: Wanna bet?

238
Javier: You might not wanna do this.
Ruth: Shut up! You have no idea what these people are like! What they’ve done!
Javier: You’ll be killed!
Ruth: Then so be it…

239
Ruth: As long as he goes first!
Charlotte: Look, me and my friend here, we’ve both done the revenge thing. It doesn’t work out the way you think. And it doesn’t make you feel any better.
Ruth: Oh, it will.

240
Frank: You’ve always been difficult. I much prefer your sister.
Ruth: You shut your mouth!
Frank: Sweet little Alyssa never complained half as much.

241
Ruth: What!?

242
Ruth: No! You’re lying!

243
Frank: Sorry, sweetheart.
Ruth: You didn’t!?
Frank: (Laughs).

244
Ruth: The only reason I ever agreed to do it was so that she didn’t have to! WE HAD A FUCKING DEAL! SO TELL ME YOU’RE LYING!
Frank: Cute little birthmark she has under her belly button.
Ruth: YOU SON OF A BITCH!

245

246

247

248
Charlotte: That’s put the cat amongst the pigeons.

249
Ruth: I… I…

250
Javier: We should go.
Charlotte: Might be wise.

252
Diego: The hell’s going on!?
Javier: We’re going now!
Shiloh: Why!?
Javier: These people… they’re worse than I realised.

253
Shiloh: Are you OK? What happened!?
Charlotte: I’m fine.

254
Javier: The rest of your people? You said they were breaking out? Where are they?
Ruth: I… uh…

255
Ruth: I just wanted to scare him.
Charlotte: Oh, you’ve gotta be kidding me!?

256
Javier: We move.

257
Javier: Any idea where they took our weapons!?
Ruth: No.
Javier: Great.

258
Cameron: Hey! STOP!

259
Javier: MOVE!

260
Ruth: I need to get the rest of my group!
Javier: Where are they!?
Ruth: Other side of the factory.

261
Cameron: EVERYONE WAKE UP! BRING YOUR GUNS!

262
Angie: We’ve got an opening. We need to go.

263
Ruth: I won’t make it on my own!

264
Shiloh: Look, I’m sorry, you seem like a good kid, but we’ve gotta bail. We’ve got a new-born…
Charlotte: I hate to say it, Javier, but they’re right.
Javier: What has gotten into you all!?
Charlotte: I want to help, but there’s too many! And in case you haven’t noticed, we’ve not got any weapons!

265
Zahra: We go.
Charlotte: Pipe down, chatterbox. We are.

266
Javier: I’m staying.
Angie: What!?
Javier: You go. I’ll meet you at Noah’s if we can get there.

267
Angie: Javier, you don’t owe these people anything!
Javier: I’m not doing it for them.
Angie: Then come with us… for me!

268
Javier: I’m not even sure I know you right now.

269
Diego: I’ll come with.

270
Angie: Javier…
Javier: Just go, Angie.

271
Ruth: Thanks. Both of you.

272
Ruth: Where are their weapons!?

273
Grant: Easy! Don’t do anything stupid!
Freddie: What’s going on!?
Ruth: The weapons Raymond took, where are they!?
Grant: Like we’ll tell you.
Freddie: Everyone calm down…

274
Javier: Last chance.

275
Grant: Look, pal, I’m not–

276

277
Freddie: FUCK!
Javier: Know where they are, amigo?
Freddie: Yes!

278
Freddie: Here…

279
Javier: Take all the weapons. And then go and get your friends, Ruth. Diego will go with you.
Ruth: OK. What are you going to do!?

280
Javier: Our friend here is gonna take me to Graham.

281
Freddie: He’s up there…
Javier: Get out of here.

282

283

284
Javier: I know you’re out there, Graham.

285

286

287

288
Javier: You hiding? Cowering in a corner?

289

290

291

292
Javier: Allowing your men to die for you?

293

294
Javier: Not so much of a big man anymore.

295

296
Javier: Know what pisses me off most about you?

297

298
Javier: You could have used your power… your strength… for something good. Instead, what do you do? You murder and let your men rape women… girls… practically children.

299
Javier: Looks like you’re all out of pawns to hide behind, Graham.
Graham: And there I was thinking we had an understanding.
Javier: We did. Until Ruth filled me in on what really goes on with your people.
Graham: They have a choice.
Javier: Under duress is not a choice, amigo.

300
Graham: Where do we go from here?
Javier: Well, I intend on killing you.
Graham: Then you’ll die, too. You didn’t strike me as the suicidal type.

301
Javier: What do you propose?
Graham: We put down our guns and walk away.
Javier: We both know you’d put a bullet in my back.
Graham: And how can you be so sure of that?

302
Javier: Because I’ve seen how you run things… how you control your people… hide behind them…

303
Javier: You show your strength because it’s the only card you have. You’re terrified. And I think you’ve always been that way. For the longest time. Even before this.

304
Javier: I’ve seen your like. Time and time again. I was inside with them. You’re not even worthy of pity. You’re a coward, Graham. You were born that way. And you will die that way, too.
Graham: You don’t know me!

305
(Gun clicks)

306
Graham: Oh dear. Would you look at that?

307
Graham: How did you describe my boys just now? My pawns? Looks like they were just that.

308
Graham: No more bullets left for Grizzly Graham. You should have left with the rest of your friends.

309

310
Graham: Well, I guess that’s what happens when you square up to a bear with nothing but an empty gun and an abundance of arrogance.

311

312
Graham: Argh… ack! Urhagh….

313
Angie: Good job I brought a knife then, huh?

314
Javier: Nice timing.
Angie: You really would’ve gotten yourself killed! Just to kill this loser!? For that girl we don’t know!?
Javier: You don’t get it, do you?

315
Javier: When I was in Summerlyn alone, I was so angry. Violence was my first response to everything. Eli killed all of my friends… I was so obsessed with revenge that when I came across Bobby I almost shot him where he stood.
Angie: You’ve told me this.

316
Javier: He was alone. Scared. He asked for my help. Everything from my brain to my gut told me to abandon him… kill him. But I didn’t. I took a chance. And he became one of the best friends I ever had. And because of him I met you. And the rest of the group. I found a purpose… a reason to live. A real one. Not just surviving to get revenge.

317
Javier: So, when another kid gives me the same look and needs my help, I know I have no choice. Abandoning her would’ve been a betrayal to Bobby.

318
Javier: I wasn’t prepared to do that. Even if I died. He meant too much to me.

319

320

321
Angie: We need to go.

322
Cameron: You think I’m going to let you all go!?
Ruth: It’s over!
Cameron: Like hell!
Diego: You’re completely outnumbered, man! Give up!
Cameron: Maybe. But what’s to stop me from putting a bullet in this brat, at least!?
Alyssa: Please… don’t…

323
Cameron: Why should I let you save your people, Ruth!? After you killed mine!?

324
Javier: Hey.

325
Cameron: Wha-!?

327

328
Dougie: Are you OK, sis!?
Ruth: I’m fine!

329
Pablo: Who are these people!?
Ruth: They helped me.
Pablo: And so we trust them!?

332
Angie: Feel free to stay behind.

330
Roger: We should go with them, man.

331
Hank: They can’t be any worse than Graham!
Pablo: Oh, they can, Hank. But I suppose we don’t have much of a choice.

333
Javier: Time to go!

350

351
Javier: I’m distracted, but if Charlotte left a trail, I’m not seeing it!
Angie: We’ll find them!

352
Javier: Everyone inside! We’ll lie low and wait for them to pass!

353
Hank: Lie down! They’ll be less chance of them picking up our scent!
Pablo: How do you know!?
Hank: I’ve done it before with my wife and daughter! It works!

Javier: Might’ve been the same that stopped us from getting to Noah’s.
Diego: My thought’s exactly.
Angie: How did it get here!?
Diego: We just made a hell a lot of a noise, in case you didn’t notice.
Angie: But it seems too quick?

366
Javier: I say we try and get to Noah’s anyway. There’s no where else. And Shiloh and Charlotte would have had the same idea.
Angie: Then let’s go.

367
Javier: Coming?

368
Ruth: We can come?

369
Diego: There’s no guarantee Noah will take them in, man.
Javier: Either they let us all in, or none of us.
Diego: Dude…

370
Angie: They’re with us.

371
Dougie: Thank you.

372
Hank: God bless you, young man!
Javier: We should… um…

373
Hank: Oh, yes. Sorry. Let’s bounce.

374
Hank: That’s what the youth of today say, isn’t it?

375
Angie: I’m regretting this already.

376
Diego: This is where we saw the horde.
Angie: So, the one we just avoided was from here.
Diego: Yes, but you were right… they got to the factory far too quickly.
Angie: You think they had already been lured towards it?
Diego: Only explanation I can think of.

377
Alyssa: How much further?
Diego: We’re close.

378
Diego: This is it.

379
Pablo: This? A fucking cave?
Diego: Looks can be deceiving.

380
Ruth: Really? Because Pablo looks like a dick… and he is a dick.
Pablo: Oh, fuck you!
Javier: Enough.

381
Diego: Us three will go down to talk to our people. The rest of you wait here.

382
Diego: Hello? Noah?
Angie: Peter!? Jai!? Anyone!?

383
Javier: Split up.

384

385
Javier: Kitchen’s empty.
Angie: So’s Cecilia’s room. Looks like her stuff is gone, too.

386
Javier: Ben!?

387

388

389
Javier: Hey, buddy!
Angie: Henry wouldn’t have left him.
Javier: He might not have had–

390
Diego: FUCK!

391
Javier: Diego!?
Diego: Gwen!? What happened!?

392

393
Angie: She’s the only one here…

394
Diego: I don’t…
Javier: You’re in shock. Just take a minute. Angie, get the others.

395
Ruth: Whoa…
Roger: Some cave, right?
Pablo: First time I’m speechless.

396
Javier: Infirmary’s empty.
Angie: Luke was being treated in there.
Javier: Why?
Angie: He was under sedation. He was burnt after the explosion at Midway.

397
Javier: I think we’re all exhausted. I say we get some sleep and figure things out tomorrow.

398

399

400
Javier: Thought you’d be awake.
Angie: I’m worried sick.
Javier: No sign from Shiloh?
Angie: No.

401
Angie: And we have no clue about where Noah, Peter, and the rest of them are, but we might just find out… and maybe we’ll figure out what happened to Gwen.
Javier: How?
Angie: That guy Dougie… he’s tech-savvy apparently. He’s trying to hack into Noah’s computer. See what’s on there.

402
Alyssa: Excuse me?
Angie: Alyssa, isn’t it?

403
Alyssa: I need help…

404
Angie: Oh.

405
Javier: When did it happen?
Alyssa: After we broke out. When I was grabbed.
Angie: I’m so sorry.

406
Angie: Do your siblings know?
Alyssa: Ruth… she’ll lose it.
Angie: She’s gotta find out sometime.

407
Alyssa: I can’t say goodbye!
Angie: Oh, Alyssa…
Alyssa: We had to say goodbye to our parents… watch them… I wish they had just gone! What we saw… what Ruth had to do after… it stayed with her! I don’t want her to do it again! I just wanna go… now… no fuss…

408
Javier: Is it fair to decide that for them?
Alyssa: Ruth will make a scene. She’ll just make me worse.
Angie: It’s your life. Your call. What do you want us to do?

409
Alyssa: I have a gun.

410
Javier: You want to do this now?
Alyssa: Just tell Dougie and Ruth you found me like this… you didn’t know… Please.

411
Angie: Are you sure you don’t want one of us to do it?
Alyssa: I’m not putting it on anyone else. You’re good people. The nicest we’ve come across in months. I’m doing this myself. All I ask… watch out for them? Please?
Angie: We will.

412
Alyssa: Will you sit with me?

413
Angie: I won’t leave your side, honey.
Alyssa: Thank you.

Dougie: It’s been distracting me. I got through to a friend of yours.

425
Javier: What!?
Dougie: Angie’s talking to him right now.

426
Angie: Peter, just tell me where you are!
Peter: I… I can’t.
Angie: Why not!?

Another great episode. This season keeps subverting expectations. First we had the premiere based around an entirely different group, and then we had the guy who seemed like he’d be the season-long antagonist being killed off in episode 2. All in all very refreshing.

Javier is a great character, haunted and complicated, whose intentions aren’t always easy to work out. I liked how his feelings about Bobby’s death led him to stick his neck out for a woman he barely knew, just because he thought it was the right thing to do. I already like Hank, he seems like he’ll be an amusing character. I already don’t like Pablo, he seems like he’ll be a frustrating character, but maybe there’s hope for him yet.

It was good to see Ben again. The mystery of what has happened to Peter, Noah and the others is very interesting indeed. I look forward to the mystery unfolding.

I enjoyed some of the stuff you did with the visuals this week as well. The fades were a nice touch that served to enhance the cinematic feel of the series.

Thanks so much, Rob! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!

I definitely planned for the first two episodes to raise a lot of questions and be quite unpredictable. Answers will be coming in the next episode about what happened to Peter and co, but the unpredictability is something I’m quite excited about this season. It’s going to be quite surprising, I think!
