1
Peter?

2
You need to eat.

3
What happened wasn’t your fault, son.

4
Just wait for the chief!

5
At what point do I throw in the towel!?

6
Peter, you need to talk to me.

7Everyone’s real worried about you.

8

9

10
We gotta go back in, man!

11

12

13
Baby, please… just look at me…

14

15
Go home, Peter. Before you repeat my mistakes.

16.fw
Last chance.

17

18

19
Jai: Last chance.

20

21
Ashlyn: Please! Don’t!
Caleb: It’s all right, Ashlyn.

22
Wade: What the fuck is wrong with you people!?

23
Jai: You all need to leave.
Wade: And why’s that exactly, Gandhi!?
Jai: You lured the dead to us. Lead them back away and we don’t have any problems.

24
Kelsey: Caleb, what’s going on!?

25
Caleb: It’s all right, honey. It’s gonna be OK.

26
Kelsey: I need to go!

27
Jai: What’s she doing!?

28
Donna: Get her to stop!

29
Caleb: Kelsey, no!
Kelsey: I NEED TO GET OUT!

30
Bernadette: She’ll get us all killed!

31
Wade: Don’t shoot, assholes! The lady’s not well!

32
Caleb: Baby, come here… listen to me…
Kelsey: Get off me!

33
Jai: I swear, if she takes one step closer to opening that door…

34
Caleb: Kels, it’s me. It’s Caleb.
Kelsey: No!

35
Caleb: Look at me! Look! Just look!
Kelsey: Caleb!?

36
Caleb: Come here. It’s gonna be all right. Just calm down…

37
Peter: Jai…

38
Rhea: In case it’s not already crystal clear, we mean you no harm.

39
Clarity: And my daughter isn’t well either! You can’t send us back out there!

40
Peter: Put the gun down, Jai.

41
Jai: Peter…
Peter: Now.

42
Peter: This was unnecessary.

43
Wade: That’s one way of putting it, pal.

44
Peter: We’re all in the same boat.

45Lorna: Peter… honey?

46
Lorna: You need to eat.

47
Lorna: I made soup. Potato and bacon. Your mum’s recipe.

48
Lorna: Love?

49
Lorna: It’s out here if you want it, OK?

50
Lorna: Hi. Yeah. I can talk.

51
Lorna: No. Nothing.

52
Lorna: I… I don’t know how much longer I can…

53
Lorna: Yeah. I wanna see you, too.

54
Lorna: It’s just not a good time. I couldn’t get him to sleep last night…

55
Lorna: I’m so exhausted, Andy.

56

57

58

59
Peter: How is it down there?
Caleb: Some of the dead have backed away from the doors. If we carry on staying quiet…

60
Caleb: I honestly don’t know how I can ever thank you, man.
Peter: Just keep your group calm, OK?
Caleb: Of course.

61
Peter: Your wife? She’s unwell?
Caleb: Dementia.
Peter: She seems too young.
Caleb: One of the earliest recorded cases in history. It’s not been easy.
Peter: Where have you been all this time?

62
Caleb: We were part of a safe town. It was fine, at least for a little while, but the guy in charge… he was a piece of shit. It got worse. We broke out just as it was all going to hell, to put a long story short. We’re better off out of there.
Peter: Then it’s good you got out.
Caleb: How about you?

63
Peter: If I told you everything that’s happened to me since this all started you wouldn’t believe me. Its only been five or six months, give or take. Feels like a lifetime.

64
Peter: We’ve lost a lot of people.
Caleb: I’m sorry.

65
Caleb: My son… he was taken… kidnapped… just hours ago…
Peter: What?
Caleb: I know the guy who took him. One of the women I’m with… it’s her brother… it’s another long story. We’re gonna get him back.

66
Peter: I’ll help any way I can.
Caleb: Thank you.

67
Caleb: I don’t mean any offence, as you seem like a good man, but I have my family to think about.

68
Caleb: Your people? Are they… OK?

69
Peter: Yes. In spite of what you’ve seen.

70
Peter: Though, I’m starting to worry they might not be for much longer.

71
Meredith: You’re who I think you are, then?
Rhea: Yes.
Meredith: The odds of stumbling into you.
Rhea: I know. I just can’t help but think that…
Peter: You two know each other?

72
Rhea: Not particularly.
Peter: She seemed to know who you are.
Meredith: This place my superiors are trying to get us to… it involves her…
Peter: And how’s that?

73
Meredith: The group I’m a part of, it goes without saying we needed money and resources. So, before The Fall…
Peter: ‘The Fall?’
Meredith: It’s what we refer to as the start of the pandemic.

74
Peter: And who’s we?

75
Meredith: Peter, I appreciate all the help you and your people have given me, but I am under no obligation to answer any questions. With that being said, I’m trying to, so why don’t you actually let me talk?

76
Peter: Go on.
Meredith: The place we’re going to is owned by a man called Nestor Cheung. And Nestor Cheung…

77
Rhea: Is my father.

78
Peter: And you weren’t already with him, why?
Rhea: It’s complicated.
Peter: Yeah, well, I’m about done caring.

79
Peter: Just don’t play any games with us, understand?
Meredith: Sorry, Peter, I don’t follow?
Peter: We helped you. Risked our lives to get you out of that bunker.
Meredith: And I’m grateful.

80
Peter: Then you’re going to help me get my little girl to this place, whatever the hell it is. I don’t care if this Nestor Cheung wants us there, or not. I don’t care about your politics. Or your protocols. Or you mission, for that matter. But me, my little girl, and my people… if you’re not serious about us coming with you, then you tell me now.|
Meredith: I am serious.
Peter: Then I want your word.

81
Meredith: You’ve got it.

82
Peter: Thank you.

83
Peter: Why’d we come this far out? There’s a diner in Winterhodge.
Dave: Thought you might be more comfortable if you weren’t worried about running into anyone.
Peter: What’s this about, Chief?
Dave: Dave, Peter. You can call me Dave.

84
Peter: Feels wrong somehow.
Dave: The guys at the station miss you. Bill sends his regards. Says the graveyard shift isn’t the same.
Peter: I miss them all, too.
Dave: We want you back as soon as possible, Peter. But you need to get better.
Peter: OK?

85
Dave: There’s a woman I’d like you to go and talk to. Her name’s Mandy. She’s a sweetheart.
Peter: You’re talking about a therapist!?
Dave: There’s no shame in it, Peter.
Peter: Did Lorna put you up to this!?
Dave: We’ve spoken, but it was my idea.
Peter: I don’t believe that.

86
Dave: Even if it was her idea, she’s not the enemy. She’s trying to help. Everything OK between you two?
Peter: Yeah. Course.

87
Dave: What happened wasn’t your fault, son.

88
Peter: You don’t mean it.
Dave: Mean what?
Peter: What happened is my fault. You said as much yourself.
Dave: I never said anything of the sort!
Peter: The way you were… after the fire…

89
Dave: I was upset about Lonnie! And I felt guilty myself! It had nothing to do with you, Peter! I promise.

90
Dave: I was born and raised in Detroit. Worked there for almost twelve years before I moved to this God-forsaken foggy-ass town. I saw my fair share of death there, son. It rarely happens here… but it does happen. It’s part of the job. It can’t just be BBQ’s with the boys and middle-of-the-night drills.

91
Dave: We want you back, Peter. But first, you’ve got to get your head together. If not for your career, then for your family. If you wanna come back, you have to speak to someone.
Peter: Dave…
Dave: It’s non-negotiable, I’m afraid.

92
Dave: Now, do ya reckon this establishment’s claim of having the best pancakes in the whole of North America is legit or straight-up bullshit?

93
Clarity: Excuse me? Sir?

94
Peter: Yes?
Clarity: Do you happen to have any food?
Peter: Not really.
Clarity: It’s just… it’s my daughter. She’s diabetic.
Peter: Oh.
Clarity: She ran out of her medicine a few days ago. Without it… she’ll…

95
Clarity: Your friend… the older gentlemen…
Peter: Jai.
Clarity: He said she’s deteriorating.

96
Clarity: I’m sorry! I don’t mean to…
Peter: It’s all right.

97
Clarity: I’ll leave you be.

98
Peter: Georgie?
Georgie: Hm—!?
Peter: Sorry to wake you.
Georgie: S’OK.
Peter: Can we talk?

99
Peter: What do you mean no!?
Georgie: I’m not giving her any of my medicine, Peter.

100
Peter: Georgie, she’s a young girl. Can’t be more than twenty… twenty-one…
Georgie: And I’m sorry, but she’s beyond help now. If I gave her any, there’s not much of a chance it’ll do any good.
Peter: But what if there is a chance!?
Georgie: And then what!? I’m supposed to share? With her? Every day? Split my life expectancy by half!?

101
Peter: We can get you more! We can get you both more!
Georgie: When, Peter!? How!? There’s no guarantee of that and you know it.

102
Peter: Georgie, we can’t just let this girl die

103
Georgie: It’s a dog-eat… hell, it’s a man-eat-man world. I have to survive for as long as I can.

104
Georgie: I’m pregnant.
Peter: Oh… oh, Georgie.
Georgie: And I know I might not live long enough to carry the baby to term, but I am going to get as close as I possibly can. I have to. This baby is all that remains of Calvin.

105
Peter: Georgie, I promise, I will get you medicine.
Georgie: Don’t make promises you can’t keep.
Peter: But this girl… think of this girl… she’s dying… her poor mother… there’s a chance we can…

106
Georgie: I’m sorry.

107

108
Jai: My condolences.

109
Ashlyn: I’m so sorry, Clarity.

110
Donna: You did what you had to do.
Georgie: Don’t.

111

112
Lorna: I can come with you?
Peter: It’s fine.
Lorna: Honestly, I don’t mind?
Peter: I’m sure there’s other places you’d rather be.

113
Lorna: What’s that supposed to mean?
Peter: Nothing.
Lorna: Peter!?
Peter: See you later.

114

115

116
Mandy: So, you have a young son?

117
Peter: Yeah.
Mandy: How old is he?
Peter: Five.

118
Peter: Six. He’s six.

119
Mandy: It’s a good age.

120
Mandy: How’s he been? During all this?
Peter: All of this?
Mandy: Your depression.

121
Peter: Oblivious.
Mandy: Kids pick up on a lot more than you think they do.

122
Peter: You trying to make me feel guilty!?
Mandy: I was merely…
Peter: I misspoke, all right!? I know my son’s age.
Mandy: Peter, please, I’m not trying to insinuate anything.

123
Mandy: Maybe we should start again?
Peter: This is a waste of time.
Mandy: Peter, you need to talk to me. There’s no shame in opening up. Or simply talking about what happened.

124
Peter: You know what happened. I know what happened. Why discuss it?
Mandy: Because you need to. You need to accept it. You need to try and come to terms with it. That’s what this is all about.

125
Peter: This was a mistake.

126
Mandy: Oh, Peter, please…

127
Peter: No sign?

128
Drew: I’ve been looking out these windows all night. At one point, I could’ve sworn I saw Rachel’s coat… y’know, how bright it is. But I think my eyes are playing tricks.
Peter: Try and get some rest.
Drew: How can I when the man I love is still out there!?

129
Drew: I’m sorry. Lorna’s out there, too. I know. It’s just…
Peter: It’s been a trying time for all of us.
Drew: Do you ever think that we’ve just been lucky to have survived as long we have? And that, I dunno, maybe–

130
Drew: Forget it.
Peter: No, go on.
Drew: Doesn’t matter.
Peter: Drew, it’s fine. What was you going to say?

131
Drew: Do you ever wonder if our luck’s run out?

132
Noah: Peter?

133
Noah: Got a sec?

136
Peter: We have to leave!? Within the hour!?
Anthony: What part of what we just told you, did you not understand?
Peter: We’re surrounded! And some of people are still out there!
Anthony: We have no choice but to fight our way through. And your friends are none of my concern.

137
Jai: You really are a horrible man.

138
Anthony: Then I’m a horrible man who does what needs to be done. All I care about, is getting Meredith to that boat.

139
Peter: Boat?

140
Meredith: Our people are going to pick us up on a river about a mile away from here. In three hours time. If we’re not there… then I’m not sure we’ll get another chance.
Jai: And if we help you get here, we can come with you?
Peter: That’s already been decided.

141
Anthony: Has it now?
Meredith: Yes, Anthony. It has. I’ve given them my word. And I’m not debating it further.

142
Noah: Thank you, Meredith. They’re good people. I vouch for them a hundred percent.

143
Anthony: What you vouch for is irrelevant. We’ll see what Mr. Cheung has to say when we get to where we’re going. Until then, we need to put together a plan on getting out of here.
Henry: I could help with that.
Anthony: How so?

144
Henry: Well, I… uh…

145
Jai: I met this man in the summer, soon after everything started. He got our group out of sticky situations time and time again.

146
Meredith: Do you have military experience?
Henry: Of sorts.

147
Meredith: Then we’ll let you do your thing.
Anthony: Seriously!?
Meredith: In the meantime, Anthony and I need to gather our things. Meet back here in twenty?
Peter: Sure.
Meredith: Thank you.
Noah: I’ll give you a hand.

148

149
Jai: I’ll get everyone else up and prepared. We’ve got to find the others. I don’t care how safe this place might be, I’m not getting on that boat without Shiro.

150
Peter: Any ideas? What are you doing?
Henry: Looking for their radio!
Peter: What?
Henry: They just spoke to their people to find out about the new extraction point, right?
Peter: I presume so?

151
Henry: Then what!? They did it over Skype!? They clearly have a radio!
Peter: That matters right now? Shouldn’t we be focusing on coming up with a plan?
Henry: I know you’ve spoken to these people, Peter, and I respect your judgement, but Shiloh is still out there. And I am not allowing these people to get me killed before I can find him.

152
Peter: What will speaking to their people accomplish!? They won’t talk to you.
Henry: I thought I lost him once, Peter. I can’t go through that again.
Peter: I understand, but what’s the plan here!?

153
Henry: Voila!
Peter: Henry, stop!

154
Peter: Let’s be smart about this!
Henry: Peter…
Peter: I know you’re used to calling the shots, man. But hear me out! Do you think I’d walk Beatrice and Lorna into a trap!? Anthony’s a piece of shit. But I trust Noah. And I think Meredith’s a good person, too. I take her at her word.

155
Henry: Something’s not right with these people. They think they have a higher purpose… and that makes us expendable… they won’t think twice about using us to get to the boat and then spraying us with bullets as soon as Meredith steps on-board.
Peter: But talking to them will accomplish nothing! You might jeopardise this for all of us!

156
Peter: Please, Henry. Trust me on this?

157
Henry: Fine.

158
Hello? Hello? Anyone there?

159
Peter: Henry…

160
I’m not really sure what I can say here… but I’m in an underground facility. I’ve uh… I’ve been trying to make contact with someone over this computer… some of the people I’m with asked me to. They said they’ve been here before…

161
Anyone out there? Do you copy?

162
Henry: He could be with Shiloh.
Peter: There’s no way of knowing that.
Henry: He just said he was in an underground facility with people who had been there before! It could be Noah’s place!
Peter: Then let’s fetch Meredith and ask her to find out!
Henry: Peter…

163
Peter: If we go behind their backs on this, it could screw everything up!

164
Hello?

165
Henry: You know your family’s OK, but I don’t! Shiloh’s all I have left! I’m sorry, Peter.

166
Henry: Hello?

167
Peter: Dammit.

168
Who’s this!?
Henry: You first.
Dougie: I’m Dougie. Dougie Morgan.
Henry: Hi, Dougie. This group you’re with… do any of them happened to be named Shiloh?

169
Dougie: Shiloh? Uh… no.
Peter: Hang up, man.

170
Henry!? Henry is that you!?

171
Henry: … Angie?
Angie: Holy shit! You’re OK!
Peter: Angie?
Angie: Peter!?

172
Lorna: Peter!?
Peter: What!?

173
Lorna: I’ve asked you seven times to get up!
Peter: And I am! Get off my case, will you!?

174
Lorna: Oh, you know what!?
Peter: What!?

175
Peter: No, go on! You have something you want to say! Say it!

176
Lorna: I can’t do this anymore! I’m exhausted!
Peter: Do what!?
Lorna: Manage the house… the chores… the bills… Milo… and look after you!
Peter: Then don’t!
Lorna: I’m your wife, Peter! But it’s not just me! Milo needs you! He misses you!

177
Lorna: I get that you’re going through a difficult time, and I’m trying my best to support you! I really am! But you need to try and help yourself as well!

178
Lorna: There’s something I need to tell you.
Peter: Heh. I wondered when this was coming.
Lorna: What?
Peter: Andy, right?

179
Lorna: Excuse me?
Peter: Oh, please, you think I don’t know about this guy you’ve been speaking to!?
Lorna: I’ve made no secret of it, Peter. He’s a friend.
Peter: A friend?
Lorna: Yes!
Peter: Yet I’ve never heard of him?

180
Lorna: He’s done some gardening for Joyce and Gilbert. I met him when I was over for book club and we hit it off. But it’s platonic. And what I wanted to speak to you about has nothing to do with him!
Peter: Yeah. Right.
Lorna: Are you going to accuse me of something, Peter? Because if you are, at least have the guts to say it instead of making snide comments!

181
Peter: I’m going out.
Lorna: Where!?

182
Lorna: Peter!?

183
Lorna: Come back!

184
Peter: Angie?
Angie: Oh, thank God! I thought I’d never speak to you again!
Peter: You’re at Noah’s place?
Angie: We arrived a few hours ago. Where the hell are you!?
Peter: It’s a long story. We’re fine, though.

185
Angie: Well, Gwen wasn’t!
Peter: Gwen?
Angie: When we got here, we found her. She’d turned. We had to put her down.
Henry: Did she get Ben!?
Angie: No. She kept herself away in the living room. Diego said he had to use a code to open the door. She obviously wanted to make sure she wasn’t a threat to him. What the hell happened to her!?
Henry: She was bit. But she wondered off… just left… without a word… she must have decided she wanted to die somewhere comfortable… familiar. Poor woman.

186
Peter: So, Diego’s with you?
Angie: Yeah. Javier, too.
Peter: And they’re both OK?
Angie: They’re fine. But we’ve had a rough night.
Henry: You said Shiloh’s not with you? Did he…

187
Henry: Did he make it out of Victoria?
Angie: Yeah. He’s fine.
Henry: Then why aren’t you together!?
Angie: We got separated earlier. He’s with Charlotte, Lydia-Jean, and some others. But please don’t worry, Henry. Last time I saw him he was fine.

188
Henry: Thank God.

189
Peter: So, who’s with you? You’ve taken in new people?
Angie: We helped them escape from a factory… long story short they were basically prisoners.
Peter: And it’s just you, Javier, Diego, and these new people?
Angie: Uh-huh.
Peter: What about Bobby?

190
Peter: Angie?

191
Angie: He’s gone.
Peter: Oh, babe. I’m so sorry.
Angie: Tell us where you are, Peter. We’ll come find you.
Peter: Angie, I…

192
Anthony: Hang up. Now.
Angie: Who’s that!?

193
Angie: Peter, just tell me where you are!
Peter: I can’t.
Angie: Why not!?
Peter: Look, you and Javier are safe there. That’s all that matters. Stay there, OK? I’ll…

194
Anthony: Put it down! NOW!
Angie: Who is that!?
Peter: Hold on a second! I…

195
Anthony: I MEAN IT!
Peter: I’m sorry, Angie, I have to go.

196
Peter: Henry.

197
Peter: Look…
Anthony: Shut your mouth!

198

199
Anthony: Meredith is insistent on helping you people. If I have my way, and I will, I’ll ensure you two and the rest of you clowns never get in our way again!

200

201
Henry: Peter…
Peter: If this has ruined a chance of getting Beatrice somewhere safe…
Henry: I’m sorry.
Peter: And knowing Angie, she’s going to freak out and go walk-about to try and find us! She could get herself killed! She was better off not knowing and staying put until we could get to her!
Henry: I know.

202
Peter: You said I know that my family’s OK. Do you think I only consider Lorna and Beatrice my family? That you, Jai, Shiro, Georgie, and the others mean nothing!? Was trusting me too much to ask!?

203
Peter: Don’t answer. You’ve said enough.

204
Clarity: I can’t just leave Hope here…
Rhea: Clarity, I’m sorry, but she’s gone.
Clarity: I should stay here.
Rhea: The dead will get in, honey. They’ll kill you. Think of Hank. He’s still out there somewhere. He needs you.
Clarity: I just…
Rhea: We’re with you, OK? I’m getting you out of here.

205
Wade: She don’t need no traitor comforting her.
Rhea: Not the time, Wade!

206
Caleb: You stay by my side no matter what, honey, all right?
Kelsey: OK. Where are we going?
Caleb: I’ll explain later. Just stay calm.

207
Donna: Ready, lardass?
Georgie: As I’ll ever be.

208
Anthony: If it all goes to hell, you run to the river and don’t look back.
Meredith: OK.

209
Drew: I’m not going without Shiro.
Jai: Nor am I. We’ll get shot of here and try and find him.

210
Henry: These people of yours best not try anything.
Noah: What’s that supposed to mean?
Henry: I’m watching them, Noah. That’s all I’m saying.

211
Bernadette: We haven’t decided what we’re doing with her.
Peter: It’s up to her.
Bernadette: Excuse me?
Peter: If she wants to come with us, she can help. If she wants to go her own way? Fine.

212
Bernadette: And you’ve decided that?
Peter: Yes. I’ve decided that.

213
Peter: That all right with you?
Jai: I just want to find the others and get to the boat.

214
Peter: You with us?
Alexis: I guess I am.

215
Peter: Take this.

216
Bernadette: You’re giving her a weapon!?
Peter: You expect her to fight the dead with her hands?

217
Clarity: I don’t think I can do this, everyone. I’m sorry…

218
Donna: Then stay here.

219
Peter: The woman has just lost her daughter. What the fuck is wrong with you!?
Donna: Sorry?
Peter: You go out of your way to be as unpleasant as possible. Do you have no humanity… no decency whatsoever!?

220
Georgie: Peter!?
Peter: I’m not talking to you, Georgie!

221
Peter: Maybe try and think of other people for once in your life!? Put them first!?
Donna: The day I do that is the day I die.

222
Peter: There are fates far worse than death, Donna. Perhaps if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all!?

223
Peter: Clarity, if you’re not much of a fighter, could you hold my daughter?
Clarity: I… really!?
Peter: I can’t fight and hold her at the same time. I need your help, my friend. Will you help me?

224
Clarity: Yes. Of course.
Peter: Thank you.

225
Georgie: You’re trusting Beatrice with a stranger?
Peter: She’s my daughter, Georgie. Not yours.

226
Donna: Fucking uncalled for.
Georgie: It’s fine.

227
Henry: I configured the alarms at the back to go off any minute. It’ll lure most of them there, giving us a chance to make a break for it out the front.
Meredith: Good thinking, Sir.
Henry: Thank you.

228
Peter: Everyone get ready.

230

231

232

233
Peter: GO!

234
Anthony: The river is due East of here! You can’t miss it!

235

236
Kelsey: What are these things!?
Caleb: Just stay with me, honey!

237

238

239

240
Peter: Clarity – with me!

241
Clarity: Where are we going!?
Peter: I think I saw someone!

242
Peter: Dammit.

243

244
Shiro: This way!

255
Peter: You both OK!?
Lorna: We’re fine!
Shiro: Jai? Drew!? Georgie!?
Peter: They’re good!
Shiro: And who’s this!?
Peter: I’ll explain later!

256
Peter: You weren’t with any of the others!?
Shiro: We were with Rachel and Elaine but Elaine went fucking walkabout! Rachel went after her. Haven’t seen ‘em since.
Peter: Cecilia!?
Shiro: No clue.
Peter: Shit.

257
Peter: OK! We head East! To the river! They’re picking us up on a boat!
Shiro: Noah’s people!?
Peter: Uh-huh!
Shiro: Then let’s go!

258
Help! Someone!

259
Peter: Anthony!?
Shiro: This fucking guy!?
Peter: C’mon! This way!

260
Peter: What happened!?
Anthony: Meredith and I were overwhelmed. I pushed her in front of me and told her to run!
Peter: Then let’s hope she’s OK!

261

262

263

264
Anthony: We need to get to the river.
Lorna: You wanna get there in one piece!? Then shut up!

265
Beatrice: Mummy?

266
Lorna: I…

267
Beatrice: Mummy!?
Peter: Beatrice… it’s all right, baby. Look, Daddy’s here.

268
Peter: Dammit.

269
Joyce: Peter?
Peter: Hi, Joyce.

270
Joyce: Are you OK? Where are you going?
Peter: For a drink.
Joyce: Alone?

271
Joyce: Everyone’s real worried about you. Why don’t you come back to mine, huh? Have a nice cup of tea with Gil and I?

272
Peter: I’m fine, Joyce. Have a good night.

273
Ed: What’ll it be?
Peter: Surprise me, Ed.
Ed: Sure thing.

274
Well, ain’t you a sight for sad eyes, lad.

275
Peter: Evening, Sean.
Sean: Good evening to you, boyo.

276
Sean: Can I get ya a drink?
Peter: Sure.
Sean: Add his to me tab, Ed.

277
Sean: Unlike you to be drinking alone.
Peter: Thought I’d give it a try. Seems to work for you.

278
Sean: Laura know you’re here?
Peter: Lorna.
Sean: Sorry. Bad with names.
Peter: And no. No she doesn’t.

279
Sean: I haven’t seen you around much, lad. Not since the accident.

280
Sean: Poor Lonnie. Good man, he was.

281
Peter: Yeah.

282
Peter: Another.
Sean: Might wanna take it easy.

283
Peter: Sean, if I wanted advice, I’d ask for it.
Sean: Fair enough.

284
Peter: Another.
Sean: Nah. Reckon you’ve had enough.
Peter: Excuse me!?

285
Sean: C’mon.
Peter: Sorry!?
Sean: I ain’t asking, bud. Don’t make me drag you out.

286
Sean: Get yourself home, Peter. Lorna doesn’t need you to come home in a state. You’ve got your boy to think about.
Peter: Do you see everyone…
Sean: How drunk do you think I am? It’s early doors yet, son. There weren’t a soul in there.

287
Peter: You must see the way people stare at me.
Sean: Can’t say I’ve noticed.
Peter: Talk of the town, ain’t I? The local coward.
Sean: Nobody’s said anything of the sort, pal. And if they did, I’d set ‘em straight.

288
Sean: You have a wife and son at home who love you. Who need you. All I’ve got waiting for me is a senile cat who shits on my bed and a crummy Mac and Cheese ready meal.

289
Sean: Go home, Peter.

290
Sean: Before you repeat my mistakes.

291
Beatrice: MUMMY!

292

293
Peter: We’ve gotta run now!

294
Anthony: Fucking stupid brat!

295
Shiro: Shut your mouth!

296
Shiro: Lorna…

297
Peter: Are you two coming!?

298
Shiro: Fuck it.

299
Anthony: ARGH!
Peter: Shiro!? What the fuck!?

300
Shiro: And there’s our way out.

301

302
Peter: What the fuck is wrong with you!?
Shiro: Don’t pretend you’ll cry for him, Peter.
Peter: The guy was a piece of shit!
Shiro: No harm done, then.

303
Peter: Doesn’t mean he deserved that! Nobody does!
Shiro: I just got your family away from a swarm! You should be thanking me!
Peter: Thanking you!?

304
Peter: And what about your family!? What would Aimi have said about that!?
Shiro: Shut your mouth!
Peter: She would be disgusted!

305
Shiro: I’m checking to see if it’s clear.

306
Peter: We could just go, y’know?
Lorna: What?
Peter: You, me and Beatrice. We could just leave. Go our own way. Find somewhere secluded… safe… do our own thing.
Lorna: And what? Play happy families?

307
Peter: We could survive, Lorna! Just the three of us! Maybe that’s how it always should have been.
Lorna: Where’s this coming from!?
Peter: What if we had stayed with the kids in Winterhodge? Or left on our own? We never would’ve ran into Eli… we never would’ve had a stupid war with Alexis.

308
Lorna: There’s no point asking what if, Peter.
Peter: No, but what about now!? Maybe that’s what should we do now!?
Lorna: What about the others? You love them.
Peter: Of course I do, but where’s that gotten us!? I’m not sure these are going to be the same people for much longer. They’re broken.
Lorna: And I’m not?

309
Lorna: Didn’t expect you back so soon.
Peter: Joyce called?
Lorna: Uh-huh.

310
Lorna: Come sit with me. No arguments, I promise.

311
Lorna: Andy really is just a friend.
Peter: I never should’ve accused you.
Lorna: You didn’t. Not directly.
Peter: Because I knew it was bullshit.

312
Lorna: I miss you. Baby, please… just look at me…We need you back. You need to come back.
Peter: What was it?
Lorna: Hm?
Peter: What you wanted to tell me, what was it?

313
Lorna: You’ve never been that observant, have you? I know you’ve not exactly been yourself lately, but I thought you would’ve figured it out by now.
Peter: Figure what out?
Lorna: I’ve been wearing this sweater a lot lately, haven’t I?

315
Peter: Yeah?
Lorna: It’s August, Peter.
Peter: I don’t–? Oh! OH!

316
Peter: Really!?
Lorna: Due Christmas day.
Peter: And you didn’t tell me!?
Lorna: I was scared.

317
Peter: Oh, Lorna. This is amazing.
Lorna: I’m so glad you’re happy! But I can’t do it alone, Peter! I can’t!
Peter: You won’t. I promise. I’ll…

318
Peter: I’ll come back.

319
Lorna: I don’t think it’s a good idea.
Peter: Why not!?
Lorna: These people are our friends!

320
Lorna: And while I might not like it, Shiro did what he had to do.

321
Peter: Wait, you knew he was gonna kill Anthony like that!?

322
Peter: I’ve been waiting all this time… for the woman I loved… to come back…

323
Peter: But it’s not possible, is it?

324
Peter: Nah. I’m about done. I don’t want you around my little girl even if you wanted to be.

325
Shiro: River’s just up ahead.

326
Peter: You’re doing great so far, Clarity. You ready?
Clarity: Yes.
Peter: Stay close to me.

327
Peter: Whoa.
Shiro: That’s gonna lure every fucker for miles!

328
Peter: Guys!
Georgie: Oh, thank God!
Shiro: Everyone here?
Drew: Mostly.

329
Georgie: You’re OK! Oh, baby girl.

330
Henry: Elaine? Talk to me… tell me what happened…
Peter: Wasn’t she with Rachel?

331
Henry: She didn’t make it.

332
Peter: Fuck.

333
Noah: Cecilia! Are you hurt!?

334
Cecilia: Had six of those things on me!
Noah: Did they get you!?
Cecilia: You’ve seen me with a gun, Noah. What do you think?
Noah: Ask a stupid question.

335
Shiro: Who set the fire!?
Meredith: We did! So the boats know where to find us!
Shiro: And if they don’t get here before the dead do!?
Meredith: They will.

336
Wade: The Abbott’s are still missing!

337
Meredith: Has anyone seen Anthony!?

338
Shiro: He didn’t make it.

339

340
Henry: Guys!

341

342
Woman: Meredith? Meredith Beckett!?
Meredith: That’s me!
Woman: I’m Rita. This here’s Flynn. We ready to go?

343
Meredith: Not exactly. We have people missing.

344
Rita: Our orders are to get you there, ma’am. I’m sorry, but we can’t afford to wait. This isn’t a humanitarian mission.
Meredith: Please. Just a little longer?
Flynn: You have ten minutes. No more.
Meredith: Thank you!

345
Meredith: We’ve gotta find the others!
Peter: You need to stay here. If anything happens to you, they’ll just take off.

346
Caleb: Hey!
Wade: You all right!?
Caleb: Is Ashlyn here!?
Wade: No.
Caleb: FUCK! She was with Rhea!

347
Caleb: I’ve gotta go find her!

348

349
Mandy: I’m glad you’ve changed your mind, Peter.
Peter: Yeah.

350
Mandy: I hear your wife is expecting?
Peter: Little girl. We had the scan yesterday.
Mandy: That’s wonderful news. How are you feeling about it?

351
Peter: I’m thrilled.

352
Peter: I’d like to talk about that night, though. I feel as if… I need to…
Mandy: Take your time.

353

354
Lonnie: We gotta go back in, man!
Peter: I… I don’t think I can…
Lonnie: Peter, c’mon!

355

356
Peter: I… I can’t…

357
Lonnie: Then just wait here, OK!? Just wait for the chief!
Peter: Lonnie!

358
Peter: He got stuck under some debris. If I had gone in… I could’ve pulled him out.

359
Peter: By the time the rest of the squad got there.

360
Peter: Too late.

361

362

363
Peter: Wait.

364
Peter: I’ll go.
Caleb: What!?
Peter: Stay with your wife.

365
Peter: Listen, you do whatever it takes to get your boy back and when you do, and when I bring you back your daughter, you keep them safe… you stay together… you don’t let anything happen to them no matter what. Do what you have to do to keep them safe, you hear me!?
Caleb: Yeah…

366
Caleb: Why are you doing this?
Peter: It’s too late for my family.

367
Peter: It’s not for yours.

368
Jai: Peter, don’t!
Peter: If I’m not back in ten minutes, just go without me.

369
Peter: Alexis?
Alexis: Hi.
Peter: You not coming with us?

370
Alexis: I think your buddy’s will kill me as soon as we step foot off that boat.
Peter: Did Bernadette –?
Alexis: She took a shot as we were leaving. I was prepared. I knew she’d try it.
Peter: Surprised she only tried the once.
Alexis: I didn’t give her the chance.

371
Peter: Alexis, you’ve done some shitty things, but my friends have no right to act holier-than-thou where you’re concerned. Everyone’s got blood on their hands. Some more than others, but people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. If you wanna get on that boat…

372
Peter: … Get on it.
Alexis: We’ve come a long way from pointing guns at each other in that penthouse, haven’t we?
Peter: Yeah. Guess we have. Seems like a lifetime ago.

373
Alexis: Thank you.

374

375
Peter: Rachel!?

376

377
Peter: RACHEL!?
Rachel: Peter!?

378
Peter: What the hell happened!?
Rachel: Elaine…
Peter: What!?
Rachel: She pushed me into groaners… so she could get away…
Peter: Why the hell would she do that!?

379
Rachel: Because she’s a liar… she’s looking for something… someone… Henry… he needs to know… she can’t be trusted…
Peter: Can you walk?
Rachel: I’ve been bitten, Peter. There’s no use me walking anywhere.

380
Peter: Oh.

381
Rachel: You need to go.
Peter: Rachel?

382
Rachel: Just take me out… please… I don’t want them to get me…
Peter: I’m so sorry.

383

384

385
Peter: Ashlyn!? Ashlyn!?
Ashlyn: Help! Over here!

386
Peter: You both OK!?
Rhea: We can’t get an opening!
Peter: You have me now! Come on!

387
Ashlyn: Thank you so much!
Peter: Thank me when we’re at the boat!

388
Ashlyn: Peter!?
Peter: I’ll go another way! I’ll meet you there!

390

391

392

393
Peter: Dammit.

394

395

396
Lorna: Hm!? Is that–?
Peter: Nightmare. I got it.

397
Peter: Hey, buddy.

398
Milo: Dad, this one was so bad!

399
Peter: C’mere.

400
Peter: Was it the same one as before?
Milo: No. It was different this time.

401
Milo: I feel dumb now.
Peter: Why?
Milo: Because it was a just a dream. Even when I wake up, I know it was a nightmare… but I can’t help but be scared.

402
Peter: I get that.
Milo: Do you get scared?
Peter: All the time.
Milo: And what do you do?

403
Peter: I used to let it beat me. Everything used to scare me, son. My own shadow would make me jump. But I just… I guess I’ve got to a point where I don’t let it control me.

404
Milo: So, you’re not scared anymore?

405
Peter: No. I am. I’m scared a lot of things. But we have a choice. We can give in to our fear… surrender to it…

406
Milo: Or?

407
Peter: Or you can get up off your knees…

408
Peter: Stare the big scary monster right in the eye…

409

410

411
Peter: And take it on.

One thought on “Season 3, Episode 4 – All Too Soon

  1. Rob says:

    Wow, you really went there.

Perhaps the best episode of the series. Beautifully crafted with the past flashbacks showing Peter overcoming a difficult time in his life and learning to face his fears (great to see Sean and Milo again too!) and the present day moments showing each character losing their way. The scene in particular where Peter tells Milo about overcoming his fears and facing the monster, and then the shots of him running into the burning building alternate with shots of him running towards the dead is excellent. I also particularly enjoyed the scene with Peter and Alexis towards the end, setting up a kind of redemption for the latter.

It’ll be interesting to see where these characters go after Peter’s death, and whether they’ll continue down their road to losing their humanity, or find a way to regain it again. Perhaps this could be a monumental turning point for the series and the characters. Time will hopefully tell.
